Here is a small guide on how you can save some energy in the daily life:

  • Unplug electronics that always have the stand by light on.
  • Take advantage of daylight by moving the position when you are working or in the playground area.
  • Remember to turn off the light in the rooms there is nobody in. In an average family, 15% of the total price for electricity is wasted, so it can mean a big saving turning off the lights.
  • Fill the dishwasher and washing machine totally before starting them.
  • Wash your clothes in lower temperature. Decreasing the water temperature from 60 degrees to 30 degrees and from 40 degrees to 20 degrees can save you 60%.
  • Use clothesline instead of tumble dryer when possible.
  • Use the lid when cooking and use less water.
  • Maximize the use of your oven. Do not pre-heat the oven and turn the oven off a little before the food is done. This way you use all the heat from the oven.
  • Be aware if the pots and pans you are using are still flat on the bottom. If not, energy will be wasted when trying to heat them.
  • Use AutoPowerOff. It means that all electronics, for example computers, will shut down when yours does. This can also be used for televisions and other electronic products.
  • As soon as your electronics are charged (for example: mobiles, computers, tablets, cameras), take them out of the plug, and use their battery. This is a very easy way for saving energy and, consequently, money.
  • If you have electronic heating in your residence/company, you can save a lot of money by insulating it.
These small tricks can save you a lot of energy. It will benefit you, your family and the environment.
